Summary
We are seeking a passionate, high-energy Sales Engineer to partner with our sales team, customers, and partners to ensure their long-term success. The Sales Engineer will work to develop and grow relationships with prospects and customers and become a trusted product advisor within their customer base. The Sales Engineer will also support revenue objectives by working on strategies and activities to ensure customer retention and growth through increasing user base and product upgrades.

The primary purpose of the Fulcrum Sales Engineer (SE) role is to provide exceptional knowledge, guidance, and coaching to account executives, partners, and customers during sales cycles and beyond.  To be successful in this role, the SE will have a thorough understanding of Fulcrum solutions, their features, functionalities, key integration points, and our competitive advantage for customers and prospects. SEs are responsible for maintaining above-market standard demo environments and customer-facing assets. SEs must stay current on products and competition. They support others' success through internal and external enablement and are a source of knowledge to everyone, as well as preparing and participating in trade shows to drive great customer experiences. SEs will use Salesforce (SFDC) and for this role, we are looking for a person with working knowledge and navigation of SFDC.  

Roles & Responsibilities
  • A Sales Engineer has a thorough understanding of Fulcrum’s solutions, features, functionalities, and integrations and is internally recognized as an expert on complex solution matters. Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and providing focused support to sales and partner teams during sales cycles and in customer calls, extending the solution expertise of the team. To do this well, the SE must understand Fulcrum’s competitive advantages for customers and prospects, as well as customer requirements, related business processes, and Fulcrum’s Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy.
  • Creating and maintaining customer-facing assets and product demonstration landscape (desktop, mobile) and demonstration portfolio. The SE must ensure high-quality and high-performance demo environments and must help define landscape/systems operational rules and guidelines.
  • Supporting partners in the development of product demonstration content to support their sales cycles.
  • Executing assigned tasks and demo projects such as standard content projects and demo-build requests.
  • Showcasing best-practice demo techniques and scenarios.
  • Always staying current on new product releases and market trends on providing world-class sales support.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team. The SE must take an active role in enabling internal and external audiences about Fulcrum solutions.
  • Building and providing quality infrastructure and providing demo support at key marketing events.
  • Exhibiting agility and flexibility to meet business needs. Communicating relevant messages promptly and providing/seeking constructive feedback within the team.
  • Demonstrating innovative approaches to increase productivity by oneself and the broader team.
  • Developing collaborative work relationships.
  • Travel to customer locations as needed.
 
Requirements
  • As a team member on the Solutions Engineering team, the SE should require minimal supervision as related to all aspects of the position and should be capable of working independently to complete all related tasks. It is also expected that the SE interacts professionally with colleagues, partners, and customers. The SE must meet agreed-upon work times and deadlines. 
  • Experience selling business software and/or IT solutions 
  • Software Presales experience
  • Working knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) with the ability to leverage GIS resources to aid in collecting and reporting on spatially aware data. 
  • Long-standing experience with JavaScript to enhance Fulcrum’s offerings with complementary solutions. 
  • Preferred experience working with Salesforce(SFDC)
  • Ability to travel to customer locations.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields (Business / Engineering or Technology) 
  • Product solution knowledge; high interest in software products and integrations
  • Excellent presentation skills 
  • Completion of sales methodology training (Sandler Bronze Certification)
  • Polished and professional communication skills 
  • Teamwork and collaboration
